Planned Giving Endowment

Planned Giving is a way that a donor can provide a future gift from their estate to the San Diego Rescue Mission. Usually it is a contribution beyond their income. Planned Giving is not a replacement for, but compliment, to the current giving program of the San Diego Rescue Mission.

Many of the ways that planned gifts can be given are, in turn, beneficial to the donor. During their lifetime they can receive tax benefits by investing in specific instruments such as pooled income funds, gift annuities and various trusts. Often these incomes exceed the donor's investment in saving accounts, certificates of deposit, etc.

Endowment

The San Diego Rescue Mission has established a permanent Endowment Fund. Several specialists in estate planning and an experienced staff are available to assist prospective donors in making decisions regarding their estates.

Ways of giving include outright gifts of appreciated stock and bonds, life insurance, real estate, the Pooled Income Fund which pays quarterly income, the Gift Annuity which pays a fixed quarterly income base on age, and various trusts.

The Endowment Fund provides income in perpetuity which insures the program for the least, the lost and the homeless ,men, women and children in the future. Many donors want to insure that their current support of the mission will be sustained.
