![]() Thanksgiving Banquet 2009 On Saturday, November 21nd, San Diego Rescue Mission served more than 1,600 home-cooked meals at an early Thanksgiving feast for all homeless and poor men, women, and children in need from throughout San Diego. It was one of the largest meals the Mission has ever hosted. The tough economic climate led many first-time guests to our doorstep. Several reported just losing their homes to foreclosure and not having any money left over to even afford an apartment. Current Rescue Mission residents also periodically shared their testimonies to encourage everyone in attendance to consider entering one of the Mission’s programs. Our hope is that many we fed will come here soon and get the tools they need for long-term recovery and independence! Lastly, none of our guests left without:
Thank you again for your partnership in making this Thanksgiving Dinner a huge success! Together, you and the Mission are bringing hope to real men, women, and children in need! Our hot meals for the homeless continue each and every day of the year, including our upcoming Christmas Banquet! |
