Emergency Appeal begins urgent drive to raise
$500,000 for homeless women and children

There has been over a 100% increase in the number of women and children on our doorstep seeking access to emergency overnight shelter. More and more families are seeking food and support.

Now more than ever in our 56 year history the San Diego Rescue Mission needs your support this holiday season to help these women and children through programs like Nueva Vida Haven Emergency (NVH) Shelter. NVH is the only shelter of its kind in San Diego County open every night of the year for women and children.

Nueva Vida Haven takes in up to 70 battered, homeless, or poor women and children nightly. All guests are.provided hot dinners, clean clothes, shower facilities, hygiene products, warm blankets, sheets and pillows, a play area for children, hot breakfasts, love, and hope! Often the Nueva Vida Haven Emergency Shelter leads these women to San Diego Rescue Mission’s Women & Children’s Center long-term recovery program and the opportunity for a sober, productive reentry into the community.

Our need is Great and the Time is Now.

No one should be walking the streets this holiday season hungry and desperate – especially women and precious children! Please help us assure that every person who comes to the Mission hungry receives a meal and hope for a better tomorrow. Every person!
