Testimony

"I thank God for His spirit helping me get my head back on straight."

Testimonial, A word used to show an expression of appreciation, respect, and gratitude for all that God has done for me in my life by way of his spirit using the Mission.

The first day I came to the Mission, [I was] not able to see then the way I am able to see now. The effects of spiritual blindness. I am thankful of the fact that God used the Mission to remind me of that fact. That a life apart from His will and purpose is a hopeless one. Trespasses and sin is a road that leads to death, eternal punishment. I was living physically, but I was dead to the will of God. My first assignment while in Orientation was to let go and let God, to humble myself to His holy Will and purpose. Through Bible studies He gave me a heart to receive correction and He gave me a heart to respond to what was being taught and then to apply it to myself. Being that the mind is the battleground where the greatest conflict among humans takes place. I thank God for His spirit helping me get my head back on straight. For God, who is rich in mercy because of his great love with which He loved us. Even when we were dead in trespasses and sin made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have been saved. Praise God. If God would do nothing else for me, that would be all right, He has already done more than I deserve.

Thank you Rescue Mission for allowing me to put aside the responsibilities of life by staying here this past year and getting my life back where it should have always been. I understand now that we are always going to be going through a storm, coming out of a storm or another one is on its way. These storms consist of life problems, death, breakups, and disappointments. Facing them on my own human strength is a remedy for relapse and failure. But with my hand in God's hand He will make them bearable, as he brings us through them, building our faith in Him each time, more and more. Thank God for His regenerating work at one of His houses of restoration. For those who truly want to can find it. God is not through working with me yet, but I am very thankful I am not what I used to be. Now my life is regulated by His will and not mine. Inspired by His spirit and devoted to His purpose. And that is to present my life and body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is my reasonable service. May God continue to bless all those who give generously to the work of the Mission. May God continue to bless all those who work hard within the Mission. I will never forget the beautiful restoration rest stop. A place of discipline, obedience, goodness and service which leads to eternal life through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is my testimonial with expressions of gratitude and appreciation, with thanksgiving.

To God be the glory, honor, and praise. Amen
