Partners for Hunger Relief Program

A Look at What #GiveWhereYouLive does in our community.

The needs are only growing in San Diego.

COVID-19 has presented serious challenges for communities around the world. San Diego is no different. Thankfully, donors, supporters, and friends of the Mission like YOU have stepped up to meet need in our community.

Since March 2020, more and more San Diegans are facing food insecurity. An estimated 2.1 million men, women, and children do not know where their next meal will come from. The need for basic necessities like food throughout San Diego County has increased significantly.

Thanks to the support of our donors, our Partners for Hunger Relief Program has amplified its output. This program is critical to the Rescue Mission’s continuous effort to fight hunger and homelessness in our city.

In a normal week, the program distributes 85,000 Meals to 25 partner agencies, like food banks, each week.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the program is supplying an average of 25 partner agencies every day. That’s around 85,000 meals distributed throughout the community each day!

Behind each meal is a family in need. Watch the video above featuring one of our key partner agencies, Ministry of Jerusalem.

As we continue to meet the needs in San Diego this summer, would you consider “Giving Where You Live” to help meet urgent, real needs RIGHT NOW in our community?

Thank you for your support! We’re in this together.

For His Glory,
Rescue Mission Staff

P.S. Our teams are praying for you. If you or your family needs prayer, please don’t hesitate to submit a prayer request on our website here.
