What We Do

Ending homelessness one life at a time.

Our Services

Help and Healing For Our Hurting Neighbors

San Diego is the 8th largest city in the United States, but 5th largest for homelessness. It’s clear that homelessness is our #1 issue.

Each night, there are over 10,000 men, women, and children without a place to call home in our city. At the San Diego Rescue Mission, our goal is to get people off the streets permanently. We can’t do this without the support of the community. Volunteers, corporations, churches, and private donors make it possible to transform the lives of those who are experiencing homelessness.

Our programs are designed not only to meet the immediate, tangible necessities of those who come to us in need, but also to address the underlying issues of the heart. This is how lives are transformed, impacting San Diego one life at a time.

Community Outreach

Our approach begins with meeting people in need where they are through Street Outreach in Downtown and Oceanside and our Mobile Shower Ministry locations across the county.

Mobile Shower Ministry

For people surviving on the streets, having access to basic hygiene can make a world of difference. Our mobile shower trailers provide hot showers to guests each.

Community Meals

For Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, the nearby community of homeless and low-income residents are invited to enjoy a hot, nourishing meal. Come volunteer at one of our holiday outreach meals.
