The San Diego Rescue Mission Board of Directors provides oversight for the plans, progress and results of the ministry.

The Board serves a strategic role in promoting our Vision, protecting our Mission and ensuring the Rescue Mission reflects our Values of Faith, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence. Meeting four times a year with committee functions held between the quarterly meetings, our Board of Directors has four major responsibilities: provide strategic direction, supervise the President/CEO, review the finances and serve the Rescue Mission.

Meet Erica:

🍂 As fall approaches, the urgent needs of our neighbors experiencing homelessness are shifting! We’ve created a new Amazon Wishlist with wet weather essentials, towels, clothing and bedding and we’d love your support!

We're looking for rain ponchos to help our neighbors living on the streets. These simple items not only provide protection from the elements but also bring a sense of dignity and compassion during our community meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas. When we offer essentials like meals, showers, shelter, and warmth, we show our neighbors in need that they are valued and cared for.

At Mission Academy, we believe in the power of recovery. Our year-long residential program offers personalized plans to help individuals rebuild their lives. After the tough first 30 days, students can enroll in classes that tackle addiction and equip them with essential coping skills.

Since 1955, the San Diego Rescue Mission has been a lifeline for those experiencing homelessness in San Diego County. We provide meals, shelter, clothing, job-skills training, and housing assistance—transforming lives and restoring hope.

Our long-term residential program and two emergency shelters, including the new South County Lighthouse in National City, are ready to get more people off the streets.
