Individuals in the Transitional Housing program commit to spending between 15 and 30 hours in the community building relationships and investing in their futures through a combination of school, work, volunteer work, or mental day treatment groups, depending on the client’s individualized treatment plan.⠀While the program provides structure, it also strives to model what living independently will be like as much as possible; giving clients an opportunity to take full responsibility for their own decisions while still being in a secure and supportive environment. ... Here at San Diego Rescue Mission, 3 months of summer means more meals to serve, more beds needed for people seeking shelter, more clothing, showers and medical attention for homeless men, women and children. As you get ready to kick off your summer plans, we hope you'll consider sharing your sunshine with those in need. #ShareYourSunshine www.sdrescue.org/share-your-sunshine/ ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you to all of our volunteers and donors who helped make our Servant's Heart event possible. During this powerful event, our volunteers washed the feet of the homeless and prayed with them. Each man, woman and child who attended was then given a fresh, new pair of socks and shoes. Reaching out to others, being the hands and feet of Jesus, is one of the greatest callings we have in our faith. (Photos by Mission Focused) ... See MoreSee Less

Bombas donated 1,000 pairs of socks for our Servants Heart event. This event provides new shoes and socks to our men, women and children experiencing homelessness. Most importantly, our volunteers wash the feet and spend time praying over each of our clients. Our residents LOVE Bombas socks and were so excited to receive them. Socks are one of our biggest ongoing needs so we appreciate the Bombas model of "buy one - give one" and are blessed that the San Diego Rescue Mission has received this wonderful donation. Thank you Bombas!! ... See MoreSee Less
