San Diego Rescue Mission

San Diego Rescue Mission exists to spread the good news of salvation through Christ by serving the needs of the poor, addicted, abused, and homeless, thus improving the quality of their lives. We believe in the inherent worth of every homeless man, woman, and child, and provide rehabilitation and discipleship programs that lead to permanent change and independent living.

"You are braver than you believe.
Stronger than you seem.
Smarter than you think.
more than you'll ever know." - words written on the walls of our Emergency Overnight Shelter for Homeless Women + Children.

Thank you to everyone who joined us August 8th at San Diego Yacht Club to celebrate 60 years of saving lives! Special thanks to Malin and Roberta Burnham and Bob and Patty Witt for hosting us! It was an incredible evening shared by more than 250 new and "old" friends of the Rescue Mission. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful view of San Diego Harbor and our lovely August weather. See more photos from this very special event here:

Our life changing work would not be possible without the faithful support of you, our dear friends. Thank you! We hope you will join us on November 7th at San Diego Sheraton Harbor Island as we continue the celebration.

Most people tour the Women + Children’s Emergency Overnight Shelter during the day. However, Nastaran spent the night, and saw first-hand what an evening is like for homeless women + children at NVH. “I understand what I have to do now,” she explained as she spoke from her heart during our recent 60th Anniversary event at San Diego Yacht Club. Read more about her experience and the incredible support our NVH Shelter received during this very special evening in Herb Johnson's latest blog post:

You may not be able to tell at first glance.

But after the first week of school, you'd notice: it's the child that wears the same clothes day after day...because they have nothing else. It's the child who doesn't have all his school supplies because his family needs to buy food instead.

For 60 years, we've been giving children and their families the help, and hope, to overcome hunger, homelessness and poverty. With your gift now, children in San Diego County will have the tools they need for success in school - and in life!

You can provide clothing, school supplies + hope for San Diego's homeless children at
