Each client is required to participate in job training as part of their year-long program. The program is designed to teach accountability and responsibility and helps clients learn to balance choices and consequences in a work setting. Mission Services, operations and our thrift stores, warehouse and kitchen provide clients opportunities to develop and refine skills necessary to gain employment upon graduation.
They experience the joy of being a vital, contributing member of the Rescue Mission and develop confidence and self-worth. Clients learn work ethics, time management, and responsibility. Basic values are encouraged and reinforced. This process empowers clients to predict consequences, follow rules, and redirect themselves towards positive behaviors.
Working presents an opportunity to discuss goals, problems, challenges, and accomplishments. It also provides an opportunity to monitor progress and encourage positive behaviors.
