Unexpected New Year’s Resolutions

As the calendar flips to January everyone is thinking about a fresh start and their new year’s resolutions. “New Year, New You” headlines are everywhere, but they’re always associated with things like starting a new habit or kicking a bad one.

Volunteer

As you reflect on the current year, you may find there’s an opportunity to donate more of your time to the Rescue Mission or another cause you care about.

Share your heart and stay connected

Do your loved ones know how you feel about them? Dedicate yourself to documenting family stories and important anecdotes. Call a relative or send a note to someone who needs a pick me up, including people living at the Rescue Mission. Stay connected with those you love most.

Plan for the future

Whether you already have an estate plan in place or have yet to create a Will or Trust, now is a great time to think about getting your personal and financial affairs in order. Experts recommend you should review your plan every five years to make sure it’s still relevant to current family and tax situations, and you may want to ensure it still aligns with your values too.
