At our Oceanside Navigation Center, volunteers are making the days merry and bright for our homeless neighbors.

🌟 82 amazing volunteers joined together to make our Transitional Shelter festive!
🎄 4 stunning trees adorned with ornaments and garland.
🎀 3 beautiful wreaths welcome guests at the entrance.
🚪 14 doors, each uniquely decorated by volunteer families.

We appreciate our community of donors and volunteers coming together with their families to bring Christmas joy to neighbors experiencing homelessness in San Diego County. 🏠 Special thanks to North Coast Calvary Chapel for a delightful chapel service and Day Break Church for their contribution.

Twice a year, the stage is set for the grand celebration of our Mission Academy students from our 1-year residential recovery program. It marks the year’s breakthroughs and highlights the spirit of giving through scholarships.

The Barbara Lee Edwards Scholarship started in Spring 2020 and empowers women like Serenity, recognizing her dedication to the program and her inspiring plans for the future. Hip, Hip, Hooray for Serenity! 🎓 May your educational journey be bright.

Shoutout to We Revive, our incredible Corporate Partner on a mission to revive the world one property at a time! 🍁 Savannah's Gratitude, A Mission Academy Alumni Story🍂

“I am just so thankful. I broke the cycle of addiction for me and my daughter. It’s mind-blowing to me!”

Savannah's journey began with childhood traumas, but she overcame adversity. At 3, her father went to prison; at 12, her sister was tragically killed. From a straight-A student, Savannah veered off course, using drugs to cope with her pain, eventually losing everything.

Arriving at the Rescue Mission with her daughter, Savannah sought a fresh start. Through parenting classes, job training, and holistic recovery, she rebuilt her life—mind, body, and spirit.

Now fully employed, Savannah and her daughter have a place to call home.

On this Thanksgiving Day, we thank God for YOU and the abundant blessings you provide to our students! We are ever grateful for the selfless support of Rescue Mission donors, partners, and volunteers. 🙏🧡

Meet Janiecia, who found herself at our Oceanside Navigation Center after facing the harsh realities of homelessness. Since August, she and her two precious children, aged 12 and 5, were uprooted from their home.

The City of Oceanside guided her here, where she has been with us since late September. 🏠

Janiecia just celebrated her daughter's 5th birthday and holds immense gratitude for her case manager, Kay, who has been encouraging her. “She is a blessing to my life.”

Janiecia is exploring opportunities to return to school and pursue a future in public administration. She dreams of providing a stable, loving environment for her family.✨

This is Help That Works!

In 2023, more people graduated from our 12-month rehabilitation program than ever before. When we address the issues of the heart, they leave behind destructive patterns and build healthy new ones. They find jobs and get off the streets permanently. Because of you, many lives are being transformed.

Last Saturday 43 Mission Academy students confidently crossed the stage into a future of self-sufficiency.

May God's blessings guide them on this new adventure, empowering them to share their stories and spread joy wherever they go.
